Komma offers several secure login methods that you can use in parallel. Logging in to Komma explains how the login process works in general – this page is about managing your login methods.
Your methods at a glance
| Method | Security | Convenience | Set-up required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Link | high | email account required | no, always works |
| Passkey | very high | one tap | one-off, per device |
| One-time code (TOTP) | high | Authenticator app required | one-off |
Setting up a passkey
- Log in (e.g. via Magic Link).
- Open your Account settings via the user menu.
- In the Security section, add a Passkey and confirm using your fingerprint, facial recognition or device PIN.
A passkey is valid per device or per password manager. You can set up several passkeys – for example, one for your smartphone and one for your laptop.
Setting up a one-time code (TOTP)
In your account settings, you can link an authenticator app: Scan the QR code, confirm the six-digit code, and you’re done. From then on, you can also log in using the code from the app.
Recommendation
Set up at least one method in addition to the Magic Link. If your email inbox is ever unavailable, you’ll still be able to access the portal.
Lost your device?
Log in using a different method and remove the passkey for the lost device in your account settings. For added security, you can also check the audit log for any unusual logins.
