Forms – Applications and Registrations
Last updated on 14.07.2026
With forms, you can collect registrations and entries directly in Komma – for example, for events, newsletter sign-ups or volunteer lists. Submissions do not end up in a separate inbox, but go straight into your contact database.
How it works
- A form is created in Komma (under Contacts → Forms) and the fields to be included are defined.
- The form is published – for example, embedded on your organisation’s website or shared as a direct link.
- When someone fills in the form, this generates a submission in Komma. Depending on the configuration, a new contact is automatically created or an existing contact is updated.
Submissions and contacts
The major advantage over external form services is that the information from the form can be saved directly as attributes on the contact. For example, registering for a summer camp automatically sets the attribute ‘Summer Camp 2026 Participation’ – and the person immediately appears in the relevant segment.
Typical use cases
- Event registrations – holiday camps, parties, courses
- Newsletter sign-ups – new subscribers sign up themselves
- Volunteer lists – who is helping with which task and when?
- Data updates – members confirm or correct their details
Data protection considerations
Forms collect personal data. Make sure you only ask for the information you really need, and include a link to your organisation’s privacy policy. For registration forms, it is advisable to include a brief note explaining what the data will be used for.
