Delivery and Tracking

How the mailing service works

Komma sends campaigns using the mail transport configured for your organisation. No particular external newsletter provider is required.

Campaign creation, delivery, unsubscribes and reporting all remain in Komma. Your organisation's administrator configures the sender and technical mail settings.

Mailings

Under Campaigns → Sent (or Mailings), you’ll find the history of all newsletters sent: the time, number of recipients and status. This allows you to track at any time who received what and when.

Tracking: Opens and Clicks

Tracking shows you how your newsletters are performing:

  • Open rate – how many recipients opened the email. As a guideline, 30–50 per cent is a good figure for organisational newsletters.
  • Click-through rate – how many people clicked on a link in the email. This shows which topics are of genuine interest.

These figures are approximate: some email programmes block open tracking, so the actual open rate is usually slightly higher than the measured rate.

What to do if the delivery rate is poor?

  • Check whether many addresses in the recipient list are out of date – undeliverable addresses damage your reputation.
  • Avoid subject lines with lots of capital letters, exclamation marks or spam words.
  • If problems persist: Contact support – we’ll take a look at your configuration.
